LGBT Health Awareness Week, March 28 - April 1

The National Coalition for LGBT Health is "committed to improving the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals through federal and local advocacy, education, and research." Each year, they sponsor LGBT Health Awareness Week to encourage discussion of LGBT Health. This year's theme is OUTvisible: Redefining Stigma in LGBT Healthcare from Invisible to OUTvisible to raise awareness of stigma in LGBT healthcare and LGBT health disparities.

Student Corner 
Student Printing in the Medical Library Study Rooms As a result of the University retiring GoPrint stations, medical students wishing to print in the Medical Library can now print directly to the printers in the Group Study Room, KL 100. Printing is free, but requires a little set-up on your computers. Check your email for more information or stop by the Medical Library Office with any questions about setting up your computer for printing.

Faculty Brown Bag Series Our 2016 faculty development series continues in April! Each session will be held on Oakland's campus in Room 478 O'Dowd Hall from 12:00 - 1:00pm. Anyone interested in the topic is welcome to attend. Please feel free to bring your lunch! Our next session will be:
  • Wednesday, April 13: Disseminating Your Scholarship of Teaching - Revisiting MedEdPORTAL In this session, participants will be guided through the MedEdPORTAL submission process including reviewing guidelines for submitting to Publications, reviewing the new Educational Summary Report required for submissions, discussing copyright concerns, and hearing updates on MedEdPORTAL Publications.

New JAMA Journal: JAMA Cardiology
JAMA is launching a new journal, JAMA Cardiology, with the first issue to debut on April 20, 2016. The journal will focus on "all aspects of cardiovascular medicine, including epidemi­ology and prevention, diagnostic testing, interventional and pharmacologic therapeutics, translation­al research, health care policy and outcomes, and global health." It will publish original research, reviews, and opinions.

OUWB Publications Report: October - December 2015

The Medical Library is pleased to publish the OUWB Publication List, October - December 2015 featuring the published work of our OUWB faculty, staff, and students! This quarter's report includes 203 citations to articles, book chapters, published meeting abstracts, and other works added to the major medical databases in the months of October, November, and December 2015. Highlights include:
